The Perfectly imperfect Large Bee Block is made with the same care and attention as the rest of our range but isn't finished to our usual high standards. Sometimes concrete just doesn't do exactly what it's supposed to, meaning there might be larger than normal air bubbles on the surface or a chip on the corner, these imperfections won't affect the way the Large Bee Block provides a nesting place for solitary bees and they'll still look stunning in your garden or work perfectly built into a wall.
The perfectly imperfect seconds' sale is your chance to grab a bee house from our range with up to 60% off our normal price. Your Large Bee Block will come without packaging, ready to be placed in your garden to help the pollinators. The perfectly imperfect sale runs from Thursday 23rd August to Monday 2nd September but there are limited numbers so hurry!
The Large Bee Block is designed and made by Green&Blue in the UK.
Made in Cornwall from concrete, using up to 75% waste material from the Cornish China clay industry.
Imperfections vary but will not affect the performance of your Bee Block.
105mm x 105mm x 105mm
2.8 kg (Supplied unpackaged)
The Large Bee Block should be placed in a warm sunny spot, preferably south facing, with nothing blocking the fascia. Ideally placed at least 1/2 metre from the ground with no upward limit.
Bee Block bee houses are solid at the back and have moulded cavities where the bees will lay their eggs, sealing the entrance with mud or chewed up vegetation. Offspring emerge in the Spring and begin the process of nesting again, repeating the cycle.
Solitary bee numbers are in decline due to disease, an increase in chemical use and habitat loss. Pollinators account for 1/3 of the food we eat and are a vital part of our environment. The Green&Blue bee house range can be used in urban spaces and places where there may not be alternative nesting sites for bees, either built into a wall or building or simply stood alone in a garden or allotment. Solitary bees are harmless and will not sting you unless you handle them roughly, even then their stings are not painful, meaning they are safe to encourage around pets and children.
