The Beepot is a bee house inspired by our award-winning Bee Brick, only this time we've added a diner! The Beepot is a stylish concrete planter combining a safe nesting site for solitary bees with a space for perfect pollinator planting, meaning a food source for the bees is never far away. You could call it a Bee&B!

Solitary bees are facing massive decline, in part due to habitat loss. By using the Beepot in your garden, allotment or urban space you are helping the bees to continue the vital pollination work they do and they are also fascinating to watch and safe to encourage around children and pets as they are non-aggressive.

The Beepot bee hotel is available in natural white concrete or in a stunning shade of charcoal, the two look brilliant together.

The Beepot is made from cast concrete. Green&Blue use up to 75% waste materials from the Cornish China Clay industry in their concrete

Positioning
The Beepot should be positioned in a warm sunny spot, south facing, with no vegetation in front of the holes. Ideally placed at least 1/2 metre from the ground.

More information
The Beepot bee hotel has cavities where solitary bees, mainly leaf cutter and red mason, will lay their eggs, sealing the entrance with mud or chewed up vegetation. Offspring emerge in the Spring and begin the process of nesting again, repeating the cycle. The Beepot features a planter to the side where you can ensure bee-friendly planting means there's a vital food source for bees right on their doorstep.

Solitary bees are facing a dramatic decline in numbers due to disease, an increase in chemical use and habitat loss. The role they play in pollination accounts for around 1/3 of the food we eat and they are therefore a vital part of our environment. The Beepot is perfect for urban spaces and places where there may not be alternative nesting sites for bees and is a beautiful concrete planter.

Solitary bees are harmless and will not sting you unless you squash them, even then their stings are not painful, meaning they are safe to encourage around pets and children.

Excuse the pun, but sustainability isn't just a buzz word for us at Green&Blue, it's embedded in the business decisions we make and every thing we do.

Product -

The Green&Blue range is entirely British made - meaning visible supply chains and low product miles. We have worked with the same suppliers since the business was started back in 2005.

The Green&Blue range is designed to last for many years and we do our best to support our customers with repairs or replacement parts where any issues do arise.

The concrete range is made within our own Cotswold workshops, creating local employment and giving us full control. We use 75% waste material from the Cornish china clay industry within our concrete and are constantly reviewing material developments and processes to ensure we are using the best material we can.

We look forward to updating you soon on how we make sure our offices and workshops are running as sustainably as possible.

Packaging -

The Shred project , which Wildcare acquired with the purchase of Green&Blue in 2023, enables us to remove virgin grade packaging materials from our dispatch process - and allows us to work with our local community to remove recycling and to extend the useful life of cardboard.

Our boxes are UK sourced and made from FSC certified cardboard.

Our wraps and printed literature are printed with a print supplier who work from a state of the art sustainable building, and who are a carbon balanced printer, winner of the 'UK environmental company of the year' at the PrintWeek Awards.

We don't rest on our laurels and that is our promise to you. Sustainability is a journey with no end, and as we learn, as we question and as we grow we will keep this commitment at the heart of everything we do.
