Orders being packed onto pallets at Green&Blue

When your order arrives by pallet....

Sometimes it's necessary for your Green&Blue product to arrive on a pallet. We’re always looking at ways of getting our products to our customers in the safest and most environmentally considered way possible, however our products are heavy, and can be large. Therefore, at times using haulage companies and pallets is the only way.

With this in mind, we have put together some information on the materials we’ve used to ship your G&B product. We hope it helps you to plan for the recycling, reuse and disposal of those shipping materials.

Our promise is that we’ll always look at improving our methods and materials, aiming for the lowest environmental impact as possible. And we always welcome your feedback to assist us on that journey.

Specification

Wooden Pallet

We use two types of wooden pallets to ship our products. One, Untreated Wooden Pallets and Two, Heat-Treated Wooden Pallets. Our pallets are always recovered and reused.

Heat-Treated Pallets are primarily used to ship into Europe.

The pallets we use are widely accepted by Local Authority Recycling Centers.

It is worth checking with the pallet delivery company whether they will take the pallet away. Even if the pallet has a small amount of damage, many companies will repair and reuse them.

Pallets can also easily be broken down into their constituent parts and used for other purposes. We've put together a Pinterest Board full of pallet projects, so if you're feeling creative then be prepared! Find the Pinterest board here.

Finally, pallets are regularly sought after within the community, and you may find that by placing it on Facebook Marketplace your pallet will find a new home quickly.

Wrap OR Stretch Film

Stretch Film is used within the haulage industry to secure the product to the pallet. It is unfortunately a requirement of the haulage industry and without it, we simply wouldn’t be able to get your products to you safely and securely.

The wrap we use is 60% recycled and 40% virgin.

  • 100% Polyethylene (LDPE)

Polyethylene is 100% recyclable; Widely accepted by Local Authorities

Strapping

Our Strapping is used to secure your products to the pallet during transit. Green&Blue products can be heavy, and therefore can require additional support for safe transit.

  • Extruded Polypropylene (PP)
  • Width - 12mm
  • Thickness - 0.55mm

Polypropylene is 100% recyclable; Widely accepted by Local Authorities

Strapping includes 2 metal fasteners, these are galvanised steel and are 100% recyclable.

Cardboard.

Cardboard, including Shred, is used to protect your products during transit. Shred is recycled and shredded cardboard and you can find out more about the Shred Project here.  There are lots of ways that you can either reuse or recycle cardboard, we've put together a Pinterest board with lots of ideas and inspiration. Find the Pinterest board here.
